We aim to support each individual child in their childhood journey of discovery, wonderment and development. Our service will continue to embed improvement through the medium of self-evaluation and partnership working. Staff’s commitment to lifelong learning continues to improve their knowledge and provide better outcomes for children. Our environments are fun, happy, nurturing places where children feel safe, confident and build resilience.
As we are a small establishment, we have in place a well organised staffing structure to support the service we provide. All Staff employed by Amcol Scotland Ltd are fully vetted, are members of the PVG scheme and are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. All staff working with children hold the relevant qualification and are committed to professional continuous learning. We have a large number of first aiders throughout the building as well as staff trained in Paediatric First Aid and Elementary Food Hygiene.
Amcol Scotland Ltd is dedicated to providing access to training for its employees both internal / external and strive to meet the requirements of staff‘s individual training needs. We have an extensive training programme in place to develop the staffs knowledge of child development and learning.
Each child is assigned a Key worker who is responsible for ensuring the child is settling into the nursery routine. Staff will also provide a record of your child’s interests and achievements. We encourage parents to speak with their Key worker and read their child’s records on a regular basis.
The staff teams meet weekly to discus plan and evaluate children’s learning to add depth and challenge to their next steps in learning. They are fully supportive in all aspects of children’s progress and development and are committed to working in partnership with parents, carers and other services that support this. We recognise differences of cultures and race, gender roles, and ability and ensure that these do not present a barrier to learning.
